Peter & Gill White
Peter and Gill White’s artistic journeys have been shaped by a shared passion for creativity and transformation. With hands and hearts guided by the rich heritage of porcelain and stoneware clay Peter and Gill delve into the alchemy of glazes. From Crystalline to Raku, their homemade glazes are a testament to their dedication to the craft—each piece infused with passion, precision, and a deep respect for the materials they use.
Peter’s voyage from engineering marvels to artistic wonders began with a bold leap from a successful engineering career into the world of 3D design and ceramics. His academic pursuits led to a Master’s Degree and a fulfilling career in teaching. Now retired from formal education, his studio is a space where his love for clay comes to life—each piece he crafts and every lesson he imparts reflecting his deep connection to the art. His passion for clay was further ignited when he had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete on The Great Pottery Throw Down 2021 on Channel 4 where he reached the final. Being part of such an inspirational show was an unforgettable privilege, and the friendships he formed with fellow contestants have blossomed into a lifelong pottery family.
Gill’s path into the arts started with a degree in applied art, followed by years of inspiring young minds as a secondary school teacher. Retirement was not an end but a new beginning, allowing her to fully embrace her long-held love for ceramics. The malleable nature of clay fuels her creativity, and her artistic journey continues to evolve, proving that passion knows no bounds.
Together, Peter and Gill’s work embodies a lifelong dedication to learning, teaching, and creating—turning experience into artistry and imagination into reality.
